Health Requirements

1. General

All cats must arrive at Brayside Cattery in a secure and safe pet carrier which will be kept on site by Brayside Cattery for the duration of the stay.

Cats must be fit and in a healthy condition on arrival, any cats showing signs of ill health will be refused entry for boarding.

All cats 6 months or older must be neutered/spayed before entry to the Cattery.

We do not accept nursing or pregnant cats.

Collars must be removed before arrival.

Every care is taken with your cat whilst boarding with us; however we cannot be held responsible for any illness, disease or death that may occur during boarding.

2. Vaccination’s

All cats must be vaccinated; this must include

· feline panleukopenia

· feline parvovirus, also known as feline infectious enteritis

· feline respiratory viruses (feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus).

For newly vaccinated cats this must be completed at least 4 weeks prior to their stay. A copy of the documentation shall be provided either electronically via email or smartphone at least one week prior to arrival. If this is not possible, the documents shall be brought with the cat(s) and will be inspected on arrival. We reserve the right to refuse entry to cats whose vaccines, flea and worming treatments are not up to date.

3. Flea and Worming Treatments

All cats must be up to date with flea and worming treatments. You will need to tell us what flea and worming treatments you have administered and when. Please ensure that your cat(s) are treated for fleas and worms at least three days before their stay. We request that flea and worming treatments used should be those recommended by a licensed veterinary practice and not over the counter remedies.

If your cat shows signs of fleas or worms we will contact your vet for treatment recommendations and you will be liable for any fees incurred.

4. Medication

We can with prior agreement administer injections for diabetes or other medical conditions.

All oral medications to be administered and specialist/prescription diets must be clearly marked with the cat’s name, instructions for use, dosage rates and times, and accompanied by details of the condition being treated.

If we are at all concerned about the health of your cat(s), we will contact a vet preferably your own. Vets fees incurred due to a pre-existing condition or unrelated to their stay will be the responsibility of the owner. Veterinary advice will be the deciding factor.

At the time of booking please make us aware of any medical history or special needs/diets required at the time of boarding.

Public liability insurance is provided although it is always advisable that cats are individually insured by their owners.

Viewings, Check in and Check out

1. Viewings

Viewings are welcome by appoinment. During any government enforced COVID-19 restrictions, viewings will be suspended. 

2. Check In & Check Out

We try to tailor check in and check out times to suit our clients’ individual needs, however, agreed times must be strictly adhered to in order to avoid multiple arrivals at the same time. Check in or check out requests when accepted outside normal business hours except when requested by ourselves Cattery will incur an additional charge of £10.00.

Brayside Cattery offers a pick up and drop of service within a 10 mile radius of the cattery. Prices available on request.

During any government enforced COVID-19 restrictions only one member of the family per cat will be allowed on site. You must not enter the cattery buildings or reception areas at this time unless instructed to do so by ourselves.

Contract between owners and Brayside Cattery

A non-refundable / non-transferrable deposit is required within 72 hours of receipt of the booking confirmation to secure your chalet. Failure to pay the deposit will result in the booking being cancelled and the chalet offered to other clients.

We charge for a minimum stay of 3 days for bookings of less than this duration.

We require 28 days’ notice prior to date of arrival for changes to requirements or cancellation. If we are notified within this period, the full balance will be due. However, if the chalet can be resold a partial refund may be offered at our discretion.

If you need to amend your previously agreed booking, please contact us as any alterations need to be discussed prior to our acceptance.

Double room rate is charged on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday

The boarding fee payment if made by BACS shall be paid the day before arrival. Payment by card or cash can be made on the day. Fees are charged per day and are inclusive of the day of arrival and day of departure.

No reduction in the charge will be made in the event of the owners returning before the end of the period booked.

Cats sharing accommodation must be from the same household and do so at the request of the owners.

In the case of a cat not being collected within seven days of the agreed collection date with no communication from the owner or the emergency contact we reserve the right to gift the cat to a suitable animal charity for re-homing. Any fees, including boarding fees, veterinary fees, medication and fees paid to the charity will remain due.

In the event of your cat(s) needing to stay beyond the dates you have booked please contact us as early as possible to see if we have a room available. If you are late collecting your cat without having agreed this in advance we will contact your emergency contact to collect your cat on your behalf. Your emergency contact must be aware that they may be required to care for your cat if you are unexpectedly delayed.

Brayside Cattery reserves the right to review tariffs annually. Owners who have already made bookings will be notified of any price increases and have the right to cancel such bookings without penalty charges, with the exception of the initial deposit which is non-refundable.
